  • Infección vaginal crónica por levaduras con especies de Candida distintas de albicans es una enfermedad rara pero potencialmente completamente curable. • La mejor evidencia de tratamiento de rescate de primera línea en los centros es el uso de flucitosina intravaginal (5FC) en combinación con anfotericina durante 2- 3 semanas. • Nistatin reemplaza anfotericina en la formulación actualmente disponible debido a problemas de suministro. • Otras opciones incluyen el ácido bórico intravaginal y fluconazol oral en dosis altas o voriconazol.
